Education Visa for International Learners

ADVEX Management School is licensed by the Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC), Ministry of Education, Thailand, and authorized to accept international students. Students enrolling at ADVEX's OPEC approved programs may apply for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa to stay legally in Thailand for study purposes up to 4 years.

Who Needs a Non-Immigrant ED Visa?

International students who enroll in a full-time academic program, professional educational programs, or seminar courses in Thailand at ADVEX Management School must apply for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa before traveling to Thailand. This visa allows students to stay legally in the country for their studies.

How to Apply for the Non-Immigrant ED Visa

1. Application from Your Home Country

Students must apply for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa (Education Visa) at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in their home country before arriving in Thailand.

2. Required Documents for the Visa Application

To apply for the visa, students must submit the following documents to the Thai Embassy/Consulate:

✅ Valid Passport (with at least 6 months validity)
✅ Completed Visa Application Form
✅ Passport-sized Photo (3.5 x 4.5 cm)
✅ Letter of Acceptance from ADVEX Management School
✅ School Certification Letter confirming course enrollment
✅ ADVEX's Registration Certificate issued by the Ministry of Education
✅ Financial Proof (Bank statement showing a minimum balance of THB 20,000)

Note: Additional documents may be required depending on the embassy’s regulations in each country.

Entering Thailand with an ED Visa

Initial Stay Duration

The Non-Immigrant ED Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance.
Upon arrival in Thailand, students will be granted an initial upto 90-day stay.

Visa Extension

Before the 90-day period expires, students must visit the Thai Immigration Bureau to extend the visa for the duration of their course.
It is possible that on the extension, VISA may be granted upto 12 months
ADVEX Management School provides supporting documents for the extension process.

Re-Entry and Travel During Studies

Important Information for ADVEX Students

If a student needs to leave Thailand temporarily, a Re-Entry Permit must be obtained from the Immigration Bureau before departure.

Failure to obtain a re-entry permit will cancel the current ED Visa, requiring the student to apply for a new visa from outside Thailand.

Students holding an Education Visa (Non-ED) must obtain a Re-Entry Permit before leaving Thailand; otherwise, the visa will be cancelled. Please read the following guidelines carefull

Can Re-Entry Permit Be Done Online?

Currently, the Re-Entry Permit (TM.8) cannot be completed 100% online.
Immigration officers must stamp the permit inside your physical passport, so an in-person process is required.

You may, however, book an online appointment if applying at an immigration office.

Recommended Method:

1.Apply at the Airport (Departure Day)

This is the most convenient option for international students.

24 hours daily
(Please arrive 1–2 hours earlier than usual to complete the process.)

Fees (Cash Only – Thai Baht) - Pay at Immigration Counter

Single Re-Entry Permit: 1,000 THB
Multiple Re-Entry Permit: 3,800 THB

2. Apply in Advance at Immigration Office

If you prefer not to handle it at the airport, you may apply beforehand at any Immigration Bureau office such as:

Online queue booking only
You must still appear in person with your passport for stamping.

⚠️ Important Notes for Education Visa Holders

Re-Entry Permit is NOT a Visa Extension

It only preserves the remaining validity of your current visa.
It does not grant additional days.

Visa Expiry Date Remains the Same

Upon returning to Thailand, immigration will allow you to stay only until the original expiry date of your visa.

If You Leave Thailand Without Re-Entry

Your Education Visa will be cancelled immediately, and you will need to restart the entire visa application process.

✔ Recommendation

For maximum convenience, ADVEX recommends that students apply for their Re-Entry Permit at the airport on the day of departure. Please allow enough time for document preparation and locating the service counter.

90-Day Reporting Requirement

Thai Immigration requires all foreigners on long-term visas to report their residential address at the Immigration Bureau every 90 days. ADVEX assists students with this process.

Additional Requirements for Certain Nationalities

Students from specific countries may be required to apply in person and provide additional documentation.
Some nationalities may require security clearance or background checks.

Visa Related Fees

ADVEX administration fee 20,000 THB (Paid to ADVEX)
Single-entry ED Visa: USD 80 (Valid for 3 months, paid directly to the Immigration Bureau))
Visa extension fee: THB 1,900 (Per extension, paid directly to the Immigration Bureau)
Re-entry permit fee:
- Single Re-Entry: THB 1,000
- Multiple Re-Entry: THB 3,800
